"Lovely Hotel, great location"
I had a great 3 night stay in this hotel in December last year. It was very cheap for a 4* hotel, I think because of it's location. It's not right in the centre of town, but only a 5 minute walk, so it wasn't a problem. The room was modern with a great bathroom.
The breakfast selection was very extensive - the usual Scandanavian cheeses, meats and fish - and was very fresh.
I would definitely recommend this hotel. Don't be put off by it's location. It's more central than it looks on a map.

"Very nice hotel"
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We booked with easyjet. Payed just litle over 100 euro for 3 nights incl. buffet breakfast.!!The hotel was so clean that you could almost take off your shoes when you walked into the hotel!! The hotelstaff was young but very helpfull. The colors was warm and you felt welcom and almost at home:) The room had badtub and robes. It is about 500 meters from the beginning of the main road, Pikk in the old town. I would stay at this hotel again if I go back to tallinn!!

"Very Clean"
I had read previously that this hotel was good value and clean, but the reality was that it was better. It was spotless and very convenient for the old city. Just five minutes walk.

"Lovely place"
This is a lovely hotel, just outside the old town by the port. Don't be put off by staying outside the old town, Tallinn is TINY, it was no more than a 10 minute meander from hotel room to old town square. The room we were initally given was a bit rubbish, small, no bath with two singles, but we smiled sweetly at the lovely lady at reception and she gave us an excellent room. If you aren't 100% happy I'd go ask, the estonians are really friendly and helpful. The BEST part of this hotel is the excellent breakfast spread that is included in the price.
My partner and I loved Tallinn and if we ever go back we would stay at the Ilmarine again!

"Great choice for ferry passengers"
Don't be fooled by the prison looking gray brick exterior. The inside is very modern and fashionable. Rooms were comfortable with air conditioning and a very well decorated bathroom (solid surface countertops, glass shower doors (not curtains), etc.)
Staff was friendly, there is a computer in the lobby the check your email. It is a 15 minute walk from the Tallink terminal, or 10-15 minutes from Silja. 5-10 minutes from the old town. I read the warnings about using taxis in Tallinn (even the hotel literature advises guests about taxis) so it was important for me to be able to walk to the things I needed to avoid the taxis. Side note: Tallinn really needs to crack down on their crooked taxi driver problem, otheriwse it will be an ugly speedbump on their road to a flourishing destination.
Breakfast is included in the room price, but the hotel's website currently fails to mention this. The breakfast was fine - very much like the traditional Scandinavian buffet. Sliced deli meats and cheese, breads, cold cereals, some pastry selections, juices, and more. The Domina Inn Ilmarine had cocoa puffs (or a generic equivalent) and that is the first time I have seen this cereal in a european hotel. Just thought you'd like to know. Also had bacon (very fatty northern european bacon), scrambled eggs, breakfast sausages, and potatoes. You don't always find all these hot dishes at northern european hotels. I did not try the hotel restaurant for any other meals.
Overall, I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. It was clean inside throughout, and was a very fair value for the price I paid compared to other northern european hotels. If you are coming and/or leaving on a boat/ship/ferry, and are primarily interested in the area of Old Town, this is a fine choice.
